Russian splendor, French elegance and American modernity
Everday couture bags
After 15 years in design departments, directing and shaping products of the biggest French luxury and leather goods houses, designer MASHA KEJA launches her own brand in 2008. The elegance of her designs is born from her French-Russian origins, a successful modelling career and time working in Paris for Lancel and Christian Lacroix.
Quality and high standards are essential criteria in the choice of materials: only French and Italians leathers are used for the collections. The bags are produced by the best French ateliers, renowned for their creation for brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Goyard, Celine…
In the main part of her collection, the designer is exploring an old XVI c. technique of embroidering, named “cannetille”. This technique, very popular at the end of XVII beginning of XIX c. was decorating the French Royal clothing. In some museums we can still find the exceptional costumes of Napoleon Bonaparte and his generals embroidered in “cannetille”…
“I elaborated a collection with rich historical past for woman with character, who flaunts her difference, her power and… her femininity” says the designer. The ornament used for embroideries represents a mystic animal, a mix of butterfly and Imperial eagle, as a symbol of femininity, beauty and strength. Realized with very thin metal springs, the “cannetille” embroideries are completely handmade. It takes about one day work and long years of experience to make one embroidery.
Classic shapes of bags opposed to the rare Royal technique making a strong mix of modern and past… Since 2008, MASHA KEJA’s bags were seen in the French movies, TV shows, and were adopted by celebrities & it-girls such as Paris Hilton, Kelly Rowland, Mel B, Avril Lavigne, Alexandra Lamy, Cathy Guetta, Lebanses star Elissa and many others.
In April 2015 MASHA KEJA celebrated the opening of its first Parisian boutique. The products of the company are presented in multibrand stores and boutiques in Europe, Japan, Russia and United States.
